Our Why

Our Mission is to drastically minimize the generational impact of sexual violence through advocacy and healing.

Our vision is to break the cycle of generational trauma through advocacy, awareness, and change.

What is intergenerational trauma?

Most simply, intergenerational trauma is trauma that’s been passed down between generations. But nothing about intergenerational trauma is simple.

As its name implies, this type of trauma has ripple effects across multiple generations. This stands true regardless of whether the survivor’s descendants have first-hand experience of the causation or not.

The survivor’s relationship skills, personal behavior, attitudes, and beliefs are affected in ways that shape their interactions with future generations.

“And remember that although trauma can be passed down through generations, so can healing.”

Shyanne Anthony, clinical therapist at Calo Programs, an Embark Behavioral Health residential program in Lake Ozark, Missouri.

Why GenerationAll?

A take on the word generational, we understand sexual violence exists across all generations, and it requires every generation to take a stand against it. Our community encompasses every walk of life, every survivor, and their loved ones together. We can come together to drastically minimize the generational impact of sexual violence.

Our logo is drawn by combining the first letters of each word into an unconnected infinity. A cyclical symbol, not broken but coming to an end. We see this representation as symbolic of severing the infinity, breaking the cycle of sexual abuse for the next generation.
